Bridgend is a town situated in South Wales, its name in welsh is Pen-y-bont. The town’s name comes originally from the bridge that crossed the River Ogmore but the River Ewenny also passes through the town. Bridgend historically developed as a market town conveniently situated between the cities of Swansea in the West and Cardiff in the East. Over recent years due to transport links the town has grown dramatically. There are direct rail links to London. Cardiff International airport is approximately thirty minutes away by car and there are excellent road links with the town being in very close proximity of the M4 motorway. As such the Town has continued to grow in terms of population.
